Quick Competition: Win an ELF Cream Eyeliner - Ends at 1pm Today!

Hey Lovelies,
This is just a little thank you to those who are following me.
I hit 50 followers earlier today, and changed my domain name from
www.beauty-tothemax.blogspot.com to www.beauty-tothemax.com
Don't worry if you've bookmarked my web address, as the old link will still bring you here, basically nothing will change but the name (and it will be a bit easier to remember).

I've had an amazing blogging experience so far, so I'd like to say thank you to each and every person who reads this blog.

Now on to the Competition, you could win:

An Elf Studio Cream Eyeliner in Coffee

You may have seen this in my Elf Mystery Box Haul, I know I won't get a lot of use out of it, so I would rather give it to one of my lovely followers.

How To Enter:
All you need to do is give me a Beauty look you would like me to create. It can be anything from a Hairstyle, to a Nail Design, to a Make-Up Tutorial.
This is a Competition, not a Giveaway, so in order to win you need to ask for a look, a simple "enter me" won't win.

I know a lot of you will be at School/Work/Uni at the moment so, to make it as easy as possible for everyone to enter, you can enter 3 different ways
(though only one entry per person will be counted):
- Comment on this post below with the Beauty Look you would like to see
- Comment on my Facebook Page, Beauty To The Max Blog with the Beauty Look you would like to see
- Tweet Me @BeautyToTheMax with the look you would like to see

The winner will be the Beauty Look I'd most like to recreate.

Rules:
This competition is completely spur of the moment, and will end at 1pm today!
The winner will be notified shortly after, and the eyeliner will be sent off.
As this is only a quick competition, it is only open to UK Followers
(Sorry, you can still enter my Christmas Giveaway though).
Although you can enter on different platforms, you must be a follower on Google Friend Connect.
It goes without saying, you must be comfortable with me using your Beauty Look idea, and naming you, ie. Joan Smith asked for a Smokey Eye Tutorial.

Be creative, and good luck

Elf Lipstick Ain't So Classy

You may remember from my Elf order that I was really excited to repurchase Elf Lipstick in Classy.
I'd had my old Classy for a while now, it had broke in the middle, and if I'm honest, it was looking a bit scabby.
So when Elf offered their Mystery Box Promotion, I decided to fork out the grand sum of £1.50 and replace my ole favourite, Classy.

Classy is the most perfect colour, its a creamy baby pink with an almost matte finish,
its very full coverage and goes with literally everything.
It brightens up a nude look, but takes a side step with a smokey eye and let's it do all the talking.

However, when my order arrived, the Lipstick looked a lot darker than I remembered it.
Worrying that I'd gotten the name wrong, I fished out my old Classy, and I was right - they are completely different.
But don't take my word for it, see for yourself.

Left: Old Classy, Right: New Classy

Excuse my battered old Classy on the left,I didn't expect it to see the light of day again,
(now you see why I was reordering).
I am so disappointed.
I may be overreacting, after all, they are both pink lipsticks, but it's just not what I
wanted, or needed.

Even the texture is different, Old Classy is a smooth, full colour, almost matte cream, New Classy is a light, sheen lipstick with a shiny gloss finish, and it's not very pigmented.
New Classy isn't a bad lipstick, I just wasn't expecting it, and it won't go with looks I had in mind.

Make-up being discontinued is not uncommon, but what I don't understand is,
if you're gonna make a new lipstick, why not just give it a new name?
It's extremely hard to get a good quality creamy and smooth light pink lipstick on a budget, and Old Classy was a fail-safe lipstick combination.
Elf, please bring the Old Classy back!

Which Classy do you prefer?
Have any of your favourite make-up products ever had a sneaky makeover?

ELF Mystery Box, What Was Inside My Box?

I finally got my Mystery Box, it was delivered a little later than I expected, but hopefully you're still interested.

Elf were offering a great deal last week, if you spent over £10 and entered their Promo Code, you received free delivery and a free mystery box full of Elf products, worth at least £10!
Try as I might, I couldn't resist, so I treated myself to a cheeky order.
I bought a Stipple Brush, Elf Lipstick in Classy and Elf Cream Blush in Heartbreaker, which came to only £11.50, with free delivery and a Mystery Box.
So what did I get for my money?

Original Order
- Elf Lipstick in Classy, £1.50 (Update: Classy has completely changed)
- Elf Studio Stipple Brush, £3.50
- Elf Studio Cream Blush in Heartbreaker, £6.50
Included in the Free Mystery Box
- Elf Beauty Book, Neutral Eye Edition, £6 (Free in Mystery Box)
- Elf Nail Polish in Twinkle, £1.50 (Free in Mystery Box)
- Elf Cream Eyeliner in Coffee, £3.50 (Free in Mystery Box)

£11.50, for all of the above, not too shabby!

Although, the items were not something I would have normally picked if I had the choice, I was really happy with them.
The Nail Polish is lovely, it would make a unique top coat, I was actually looking for something really similar, but the picture on the Elf website isn't a true representation.
The Beauty Book is amazing value (even better when it's free), as you get 12 eyeshadows, a brown mini eyeliner, an applicator and a built in mirror, plus you can't go wrong with the colour choice, this will definitely get a good use.
I use my Black Maybelline Cream Eyeliner a lot, but I'm not too sure of a brown cream liner, however it's still a great freebie, and might feature in a little giveaway.

I'm really glad I decided to batter my bank balance and take advantage of this deal, if the Mystery Box isn't to your liking, then it would still make a great Christmas gift, and no one need ever know it was a cheeky freebie.

Did you manage to get your hands on a Mystery Box?
What did you get?

M x

ELF Mystery Box Deal

I received a subscriber Eyes Lips Face Cosmetics Email the other day, informing me that there was a special code out at the moment: If you spend over £10/€12 you get free delivery, and even better a free mystery box worth over £10!
Update: See what I got in my box here.

Elf always have a discount code of some sort going, and free delivery with such a low price order is fab, but it was the Mystery Box that really caught my eye.
(I used to get the little Goody Bags from Claire's Accessories for £2, full of oversized rings and velour scrunchies).
I love a good surprise, and prefer this code even to a 50% off code, or £10 off.

I ordered a Stippling Brush, A Cream Blush in Heartbreaker and Elf Lipstick in Classy
(I wore this religiously for a year, it broke recently, so I'm really pleased to replace it).
My total order came to £11.50, with free delivery and a Mystery Box worth at least a tenner. Good Stuff!

If you want to use the code, you've gotta be quick, as it ends at 12.30pm on the 11/11/2011.

The codes are:
MYSTERYUK for United Kingdom
MYSTERYEU for Europe

MYSTERYIT for Italy

Of course, I'll let you know what I receive in my Mystery Box as soon as it arrives.

Have you taken advantage of this offer?

Elf cosmetics can be found here.
